"You know that you'll eventually need a TKR, don't you?"

Knee-minus-20 years: 1984:
I fell on an icy parking lot and whacked my knee quite hard on the pavement. Subsequent pain, swelling, and “moving lumps in my knee” led to X-rays of right knee. The knee was full of “floating bodies”. The surgeon removed the biggest of the lumps via out-patient arthroscopy. He also provided me with a clear diagnosis of severe osteoarthritis, and evidence of a severe knee deformity as a result.

This was also the first surgeon to tell me that --- sooner or later --- I’d be getting a knee replacement, and probably sooner.
